Bubbles

Help

The first things everyone does, step by step. The words in bold are the words on the buttons.

Open it for the first time

Put it on your home screen first (the Guides show how on iPhone and Android), then open it from there.

  1. Bubbles asks What should people call you? Type your name and tap Continue, or tap Skip.
  2. A short tour shows What people use it for and asks What sort of friend are you? Pick one with That’s me, or tap I’ll decide later.
  3. You land on Today: What’s on your mind? Whatever you write there stays just for you.

Write your first journal entry

Today is your journal. Put things down however they come out.

  1. Type in Write, paste a link, or hold to talk and press Enter.
  2. Rather say it? Press and hold Hold to talk, and let go when you’re done.
  3. Tap Add a photo for a picture, or Save where you are for the place you’re in.
  4. More ways to add has the rest: Voice, Photo or video, Where I am, A list, A reminder and A link.
  5. Changed your mind? Tap Undo straight after saving.

Make your first collection

A collection gathers things you’ve saved — places to eat, films to watch, presents to buy — without moving them out of your journal.

  1. Tap You: settings, help and more, then Saved lists.
  2. Tap New list, give it a List name, and tap Create.
  3. Fill it with Pick from your things, or type straight in: Add a place, Add a book, Add a film.
  4. From any entry, tap Add to Collection and tick the list it belongs in.
  5. Want a head start? Starting points (under You) has ready-made ones for trips, flatshares, birthdays and more.

Settings and permissions

Everything lives under You: settings, help and more. Bubbles only asks for something when you do something that needs it.

  1. Privacy and your data: turn Location on or off, Download everything, or Delete everything…
  2. Your AI: bring your own — Sign in with OpenRouter, or Use a key from your own account with OpenAI, Anthropic or Google.
  3. Look: Light or dark, Colours, Text size and Calm motion.
  4. Notifications: what reaches your Inbox.
  5. Microphone, camera and photos are asked for by your phone the first time you use them, and you can change them in your phone’s own settings for Bubbles.
  6. New phone? Set up recovery now and Download kit; on the new phone, Restore from a kit.

Not yet: Bubbles doesn’t send phone notifications yet: what needs you shows in your Inbox.

Reminders

Say what to remember and when.

  1. Tap More ways to add, then A reminder.
  2. Write what to remember — “Call mum at 6pm tomorrow” — and set Remind me. Tap Save.
  3. When it’s due, it pops up: Done, In an hour, or Not now.

Not yet: Reminders show while Bubbles is open, and anything you missed waits in your Inbox. Your phone won’t buzz yet, and reminders that go off when you arrive somewhere are on the way.

Your circles

Give a group of people one friendly name — “Paris friends”, “Flat 4B” — so you can start things with all of them at once.

  1. Tap You: settings, help and more, then People. Tap More ways to connect, then Manage groups.
  2. Tap New group, fill in the Group name, tick the People in it, and tap Save group.
  3. Tap Start a Bubble with the group, Name the Bubble, and tap Start. Everyone in it gets an invite.

Tell us what you think

It’s a beta, and a person reads every message.

  1. Tap You: settings, help and more, then Help, then Send feedback.
  2. You see exactly what will be sent before it goes. It never includes what you’ve written in your journal.

Still stuck?

Inside Bubbles, Help under You: settings, help and more answers the things people ask, and a person reads every message you send from there. The Guides play the big moments out on a phone.
